God always comes to me through people, always has. I love this design because it reminds me of God's promise....that I am always held by His infinite grace - and that you are, too.
This weekend I was reminded that God is everywhere. I was taking my littlest, Ashley, to a track meet at Wittenberg University, a ways from our home, and about 1.5 miles from our destination I got a flat tire. I pulled into a BP, and in the freezing cold, at 7 am on a Sunday morning, before the sun even had a chance to come up, there were helpers. A man named John pulled up in a pickup truck. He was just there to grab a paper. Hadn't even had his morning coffee yet, and there he was, on his knees trying to change my flat. Of course we couldn't find the right part to get the bolts off so the owner of the BP came out, offered for my 9-year old to go inside, stay warm, and pick out anything she wanted, no charge. She got gushers. The owner of the store said he'd handle calling a service car, getting my tire changed, and he'd pay for it all. John said hop in my pickup, I'll get you to the track meet.
No matter what you call Him, God is in us all. If we look close enough, we can see him in one another, clear as day. We got to the meet just in time, Ashley carb loaded with gushers, and then she ran one of the fastest 400 meter times on record this year in the entire country for a 9-year-old. After the meet we made our way back to the BP and there was my car, ready and waiting for me.
I was reminded this weekend that we are all held - it’s His promise. Look close in your people, you will catch a glimpse of Him. Thank you to John and to Sunny, the owner of the BP - especially for the gushers...we learned they are the pre-race snack of champions.
